FDT’s “Safe to Climb” Structure Inspection Services.

Having chosen MCERTS 2007 as the platform from which to launch the “Safe To Climb” structure inspection service, FDT Associates Limited have been going from strength to strength.

In response to The Work at Height Regulations 2005 and sustained industry demand, FDT has developed a total structure inspection and certification service for manufacturing and process plants. This means that both site workers and air emissions inspectors who monitor the output of chimney stacks will now be able to collect emission samples, safe in the knowledge that the stack platform, ladders, gantries and other connecting structures provide safe access at height. Paul Jarvis – Divisional Health & Safety Manager at RPS Group plc, a leading company in the emissions monitoring industry stated that RPS “seeks to minimise any risk to their highly qualified inspectors, or any damage to the valuable air emissions collection equipment deployed at site”.

In consultation with the Source Testing Association and in partnership with the UK’s leading emissions monitoring laboratories, FDT now deliver a national service whereby its qualified engineers inspect, report upon and certify structures in accordance with BS 14122 2 and STA guidelines. All structure reports, inspection reminders, certificates and structure maintenance history is retained, accessed and downloadable from FDT’s webenabled, structure management system – Intercom.
